Why did you join AΩE? I joined AΩE because I wanted a circle of friends who shared my interests and supported me. AΩE was the perfect mix of social, sisterhood, professional, and scholastic events! I love to dance, and I have worked on some student films as a dancer and even have a choreography minor! I also love hiking, backpacking, and scrambling in my home state of WA.

Why did you join AΩE? I was looking for a community of women in STEM that wasn’t intimidating, and I got along so well with everyone I met in AΩE. I ended up meeting other people in my major, and getting close to people that are super driven, smart, and just awesome people!!

Why did you join AΩE? I never expected to join AΩE, but when I bumped into the booth at a freshman involvement fair, I was really excited to find a group of supportive women in STEM available at USC! I’ve really enjoyed the laid-back vibe everyone has, the flexibility membership has in doing what you want for the organization, and the level of feedback you are able to give to the organization at any given time. AΩE gives you an opportunity to take on a leadership position early and in the area of the organization you want to lead.

Why did you join AΩE? I joined AΩE because I really appreciated the friendships I was beginning to make with other women in STEM! I enjoyed my conversations with AΩE at the involvement fair, and at recruitment events I got to bond with more members and see AΩE’s supportive and cool environment! I’m a research worker at the USC School of Gerontology, where I focus on healthcare accessibility and long-term support for older caregivers, and I’m also part of Interaxon. I love to read, swim, bake, and play classical Spanish guitar!

Why did you join AΩE? I joined AΩE because I was looking for a small, tight-knit club that emphasizes academics and is also a community for women in STEM. AΩE was a perfect fit! I loved meeting all the sisters during recruitment and felt that everyone was so genuine and hardworking. I love how everyone is so caring and passionate about their fields and they’re always super supportive whenever you need anything! I’m passionate about higher education and outreach to local students, am a member of Tommy’s Tours, AcceptED, biology club, and tennis club, and am also minoring in communication policy and law!

Why did you join AΩE? I actually joined AOE at my previous university and enjoyed it so much that when I transferred, I joined AOE here at USC! I joined AOE because I wanted to find a group of women in STEM to be friends with and feel more welcome in a STEM major. I had so much fun with the girls in AOE and do not regret joining!

Why did you join AΩE? I joined AΩE because I wanted to befriend some fellow students who could relate to my experiences as a woman in STEM and to have a close group of friends that I could always rely on and I definitely found that with AOE! I love having game nights with my fellow members, making silly powerpoints, attending helpful career events such as resume workshops, and helping out in the community through philanthropy events! AOE is such an amazing organization and I’m so glad to have joined- my college experience would not be the same without these amazing people!

Why did you join AΩE? I joined AOE because of the tight-knit community of women engineers. Although it’s not possible to meet up during covid, I really miss the Day Away, where we cook together, do *mysterious* events and have 10 people sleep in sleeping bags during the night…!
