We are so excited that you are interested in the Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon!
AΩE is a professional and social organization comprised of women studying science and engineering. Established on October 11, 1996, our chapter at the University of Southern California has been and continues to help students achieve their personal and professional goals.
We promote our ideals to inspire and motivate other engineers and develop bonds of lifelong friendships. We strive to achieve scholastic excellence, while at the same time fostering an environment of friendship, self-confidence, and integrity.
We host and promote events each semester that focus on professionalism, philanthropy, leadership, and friendship. Our professional committee organizes interview and resume workshops, networking events, and LinkedIn seminars among other business related activities. Some of our favorite philanthropies that we are involved in are Relay for Life, Food Bank volunteering, and Heal the Bay. We also have membership bonding and social events, such as shopping trips, movie and food nights, crafts of all kinds, weekend hiking, and outings to explore the greater LA area. To see more about these events, check out our Flikr, Instagram , and Facebook page.
When I was a freshman, I joined AΩE looking for a group of friends who could support me in my undergraduate engineering studies and beyond. I have found exactly that, and now have many amazing friends that I can go see movies, have fun events, and tailgate on game days with. I never thought I would join a group like AΩE in college, but after attending the second info session and game night, the awesome members of AΩE made me excited to become a part!
What I find most unique about our organization is the guidance and support we get from our alumnae, who help with incredible academic, professional, and life advice. These alums are very involved and truly care for the success of our chapter and members. Our alumnae will be an excellent resource for you to have as you embark on your career in STEM. We also have a mentoring program with our other chapters throughout the US, as well as some scholarships that are available through the Alpha Omega Epsilon organization that members and non-members are eligible to apply for.
If you are looking to build a close relationship with some other students in STEM then I encourage you to give Alpha Omega Epsilon a try, and check out our recruitment page for more information about when we have recruitment events coming up!
Our members are a great support system because they know the intensity of pursuing a science or engineering degree. Together, we help each other to be the best that we can. We motivate each other to pursue further knowledge and understanding within our studies. We encourage each other to go after opportunities that will better our futures.
I have planned some great recruitment events for this semester, and I really hope that you come out to meet us. I’ve made some of my closest friends through this organization, and I truly recommend our organization if you’re looking for a group to be involved in throughout your time at USC.
